This weekend was our Easter celebration. And what a great opportunity to remember where our hope lies. Today my mother shared with us some devotional thoughts and a charge to each of us to focus on the hope of Easter, which is Jesus. We could get bogged down in the world, in ourselves and in the works of the enemy and we would miss out on opportunities to see God at work fresh and present in each of our lives. No matter what comes against us, be it persecution, failure, illness, or death....we have the hope of eternal salvation and eternal life in Jesus Christ our savior. All we have to do is ask Jesus to be our Lord and Savior, confess our sins before him and believe in faith that He is living and present and trust in His Word and in God's promises. And I am thankful for my mother reminding us of that at lunch today! When I think of this message of hope, I am reminded of the following hymn of faith which I love....The Solid RockBy William BradburyMy hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholy lean on Jesus name
(Chorus) On Christ the solid rock I stand All other ground is sinking sand All other ground is sinking sandWhen darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale,
my anchor holds within the veil
(Chorus)
His oath, His covenant His blood,
support me in the whelming flood
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay
(Chorus)
On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
O may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
faultless to stand before the throne
We love you all and HAPPY EASTER!!!
