"The worst moment for an atheist is when he feels grateful and has no one to thank." ~ Samuel Cavert
*******
I am so blessed and so thankful. I can only hope that given any other circumstance in life, that I'd be as just thankful. But I am really OK if God chooses never to test that theory!! Ha!Ha! ;)
I look around the world, when I'm driving, when I'm shopping. I see so many down faces, so many people that look like they are down to their last hope or their last dollar. I pray for them and try my best (despite my sinful impatience and selfcenteredness) to look for opportunities to share a little more hope and maybe even some of my dollars. I want to do the one thing I am created for...to glorify God in all that I do and say.
*
Psalm 86:12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.
1 Cor 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
*
I just pray that each day I get closer to that mark and that someone saw Jesus in me that day. Most of all, I give God glory for every good and perfect gift He has given me - my salvation, my wonderful husband, my beautiful children, my health, my humble home and my purposeful employment.
*
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
*
Thanks for listening and I pray that today you would be able to see every good and perfect gift God has given you and don't forget to thank Him for it.
Love,
Amy

Life in the fast lane!

How is it that I am this busy??? I only work 20 hours a week. I guess it's the other job that keeps me so busy....my REAL job. 148 hours a week, give or take a few. I have 2 great supervisors. They are small, but the have a lot of spunk and they really know how to motivate me to work hard. The job has a lot of drudgery....food services, transportation, laundry servicing and my favorite - waste management. But the perks of the job are priceless...lots of giggles, hugs and beautiful artwork on a daily basis, usually constructed on construction paper and often involving cotton balls or beans. Ah....motherhood....what a job!

Meet my supervisors:

So, what's God been teaching me lately?
Breathe.....just breathe. I am such an impatient person and I want things done yesterday - with my job, my family, with everything. And when it gets too crazy and I start moving way too quickly and frantically, I just have to stop and take a deep breath (or 10 or 20!) But, when I stop and take a deep breath, it usually gives me the opportunity to say a quick prayer and focus my thoughts. I do this at work and I do it at home! ;) But, thinking about this from a Biblical standpoint, it makes sense.

Breathing is significant.
Genesis 2:7 the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

John 20: 21 Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." 22And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit."

Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

The best thing we can do when we get stressed out or just spiritually worn out is to:
1. Be still
2. Look at God and
3. Breathe Him in (Read His word, Attend His church, Fellowship with His people, Pray to Him)

And for reading all of this, you've earned it. A chance to view this month's silly photo winner:

God bless!
