Southern Parkway Mile

Well, Emily ran her first road race with daddy. She ran a 1/4 mile at the Southern Parkway Mile last night. She did a great job and even earned cotton candy at the end. She was very concerned about this during the race and said to daddy while she was running, "If I am the last one in do I still get cotton candy?" Daddy said definitely, but she was NOT the last one. She did great and we thought we'd share some photos. We don't know what place she came in, but it was not last and she got her very first medal!

Mamaw and Papaw went with us and cheered her on. Daddy also ran the fun run and ran his fastest mile since college at 6:06 and came in 2nd place. This, after running about 2 miles getting ready for Emily's race. SO, way to go daddy!!

We have been busy lately! We also had a cookout with Dennis' family last week to celebrate his sister Jennifer's visit. She stayed with us for a few days. We grilled out and played in the slip and slide! Fun times!

Vacation Time

Some of you may have not even missed us, but we just had a wonderful vacation in Cleveland, TN, and Chickamauga, GA. Thanks to the Blackmons, The Rogers and The Jarrells for showing us a great time! We spent a few days with Uncle Andy and Aunt Patty and Aunt Alesia from MS who surprised us and made our day! We did have to make a little side trip to Wal-mart to shop for new clothing, supplies, shoes, etc., for the kids since I went off and left their suitcase sitting in Emily's room on the floor. Silly Mommy!! SO, when we got home we had a bag packed for them ready to go on another adventure! ;) Just one more thing to laugh about when they're older.

We had a great day with the Rogers and went to the Chattanooga Aquarium and then spent Sunday morning worship at Grace Point. Then we went to Chickamauga and spent a few days with the Jarrells, seeing the historic Chickamauga battlefield and enjoying their family. Thanks for all of the fun! We'll see!!

Thanks for checking in on us!

Independence Day

Happy belated Fourth of July!

Here are some photos of our festivities at the Colvin Recreational Center. In case you all are not familiar with this particular facility, it is a wonderful, family-friendly recreational center with a pool, playground, bathroom and kitchen facilities. We have all of our parties and picnics there. They are wonderfully hospitable and very reasonably priced!

Ha!Ha! Thanks mom and dad for hosting AGAIN this year!!! We love you and appreciate your hard work. Here are some photos of our fiesta del cuatro de Julio!

Misty, watercolored memories......

I bet you figured you'd see Fourth of July photos today. Nope...my photographer hasn't sent them to me yet.....I forgot my camera and I'll have to wait for mom to send them to me.
BUT...look at this super-cute photo I found. My cutey-patooties when Anna was a few months old. We were going through quite the LarryBoy phase and were dealing with some "angry eyebrows" in our home. Good thing we are superheroes and were able to get rid of them before it got out of hand! ;)

Now, I'm more concerned about Emily possibly joining a cult. I have reason to believe, based on the photo below, that she has joined a cult. Isn't that often the case when people start behaving differently and dressing very oddly????? I'll keep you posted! ;)
