Education

We have been teaching some talented students lately here at the "Minnis School for the Underaged and Silly" and wanted to showcase some of our local talent.... Enjoy!

Anna is taking music lessons... (she strums by herself and mommy does the chords and sings...she loves it!!)

Both are practicing their art, but look at how well Emily is doing. Are these not awesome!!?? OK, I'm probably biased, but she is so good. She paints just as good as me or better, and I've had 27 more years of practice!!

Emily's portrait of a princess...

Emily's rendition of Mommy and Daddy's wedding photo...

Anna's very abstract version of Dora the Explorer....

Note: These painting are not for sale...they are priceless and are thus for display only.

We also have classes in technology for our students....they are currently studying the VINTAGE Nintendo system and are mastering Bert and Ernie's Alphabet.

We have a lot to offer our students at this school, huh?? ;)

We also have Bible classes here at our school and on a more serious note, we're very excited because Emily has been sharing stories with us about some of her friends at school who ask her about why she prays for her snack and at lunch. These stories are unsolicited, which makes us very excited that 1. she is actually praying on her own at school without us there to remind her and 2. she is being a super cool witness to her Kindergarten friends about Jesus. She said her friend stood up and asked her why she prayed for her snack and she said "I told her that God loves it when I pray." Praise God that her lamp can be a light to her Kindergarten classmates and tpray that it will continue so that this ugly, sinful world doesn't snuff her little light out. We are so proud of her!!

Another snow day!!!

Wow, we're getting spoiled here in the Bluegrass...it's almost like Winter. I remember it snowing all of the time when I was young, but it seems lately it never snows. This is our third decent snow of the season I think, though the kids won't be able to go out and play this time because Emily is sick. It is beautiful....the ice coming down on top of the snow is treacherous for driving, but looks beautiful if you're sitting in your house drinking your coffee like me!! I don't plan to go to work til noon...I don't have a death wish and don't like to drive on ice. I'm not even good at ice-skating!!

Here are some photos!

Also, here is a new photo of Anna...this past week she has developed a love for the phone and likes to walk around and talk to her Mamaw and Nanny on the phone. She is trying to learn how to use the mouse to have her "computer time" but she hasn't mastered this one yet. We use a reading readiness site that has really started helping her with her letters and with her speech because she has to repeat the words. If you've never used it, here is a plug for http://www.starfall.com/.

Preschooler

Well, it is official. I don't have any babies anymore....I have a "kindergartener" and a "preschooler." My baby turned 3 last weekend. I tell Emily she will be my baby forever, but she doesn't believe me!! Anna had a fun time at the movies with her sister and friend, Braedon, seeing the new Veggietales Pirates movie on the big screen and then came back to Mamaw and Papaw's house for a party with cupcakes (which she heled decorate earlier in the day) and ice cream. She had a great time. Here are some photos of the festivities...

Also, there was proof on my camera of what Daddy lets his girls do while Mommy isn't home....no wonder they get so excited when Daddy comes home.....they have him wrapped around their little pinkies!! ;)

Stylish.....
Everybody line up for roll call....

More snow...good thing Mamaw bought snow suits!!

Graduation from what...snowman school????
