Gatlinburg 2008

Well, we're back and we're TIRED. We had a very fun week last week at the Westgate Resort in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with my parents. We all travelled down on Sunday and spent the entire week. We managed to make a small resort hotel room cozy as we all shared the space! We saw the sites, spent tons of time chasing the kids around the indoor water park on the resort property, and had some fun times enjoying the scenery and experiencing nature with our own hands and feet!! Check out some photos:

The kids' "bedroom" in our little hotel room!! We had to use our space very wisely!!

Daddy and Papaw following the girls around the Water Park!

Hillbilly Village...just as I remember it from 20+ years ago...so of course, the girls got Indian headresses, toy drums and some REAL Indian Moccasins to wear just like Pocahontas!

Cade's Cove scenery

Beautiful old church in Cade's Cove...we even sang an old hymn with Mamaw playing an old piano inside!!

Deer in Cade's Cove, right outside our van...

Anna with Santa in the Christmas Store...Emily wouldn't go near him. Go figure!

Putt-Putting is somewhat hazardous... ;)

Really neat lunch at the Flying Horse Grill....with a huge Carousel in the front to ride...the girls loved it!!

Studying a HUGE Hellbender Salamander with a Lee University professor.

And climbing the rocks!

Ripley's Aquaium for breakfast and a quick chat with some Stingrays...

We were all exhausted at the end of every day!!

School's Out! Hallelujah!

Well, it is June and this REALITY SHOW we call Kindergarten is over....And we SURVIVED!!!
Emily finished the year and did really well. She reads like a little maniac and we have discovered some of her skill areas...she is superb at reading, loves to write stories and draw pictures that tell stories. She is a creative soul. I guess that explains those deep, thoughtful eyes....
Anna is very excited to have her Mimi home and next year Anna will get to start her own preschool program at our church's Parent's Day Out. Emily will be a big first grader...yay Emily!!

receiving the diploma

cake time!

So now it is fun time and we are beginning the fun by going to Gatlinburg next week with Mamaw and Papaw to a resort to relax. Anna says "We're goin to the water park on 'cation." She thinks we're doing nothing else, just the water park...won't she be surprised!
