The Minnis Family

It's official...Mamaw's pool is open and the girls have turned into mermaids. Both were seriously freaked out when they first got in because they'd had all winter to "forget" how to swim, but within minutes they were all over the pool. Emily needs NO floaties and swims like there are no limits. Anna still needs floaties but has become WAY more confident this summer so i believe within this summer she'll figure out how to swim withouth floaties. We'll see...

May happenings...

Sorry I haven't posted in a while...got kind of caught up in the world of Facebook and wasn't updating this page. And we have been busy, as usual. The difference with our busy-ness now is that we are busy with fun stuff in our new home instead of working on a house to sell. Yay!! We have been having fun and hosting parties at our new place. Don't have too many photos because Olan Mills (aka Dennis) was behind a grill instead of a camera, but I can come up with a few.

Emily had her first friend sleepover (And it was awesome...her friend Tru is a great kid!

Tru even went with us on our trip to Nanny's...

and we made cookies and decorated them.

We have also introduced Nanny to the world of the Wii and she is loving it...I think she may join the Wii bowling tour!

We have kept all of our pets alive and the latest report on our parakeet is that: No, she doesn't talk yet. but Yes...she will now hop onto everyone's (even Anna's) finger and allow us to hold her. The next step is to get her wings clipped so she can come out of her cage with us in the house. Let the games begin....and let's hope she holds her bowels!!

Easter Weekend

First we celebrated Easter on Saturday with the Minnis family. We had an Easter Egg Hunt, dyed Easter Eggs and spent the day with them.

New Family Member

We have a new addition to the Minnis clan. We just adopted Angel the Parakeet today. We promised the girls when we got more space, we'd get another pet. Since I am allergic to EVERYTHING, there aren't many safe pets for me. But Angel promises to be a nice addition to our family, along with our 2 beta fish Red Cobra (the name of the week, formerly known as Violet and Fiesty) and Rainbow.

Wow, after a crazy March with moving to a new home and having 2 rounds of Strep hit our family....April is here and we are hoping for some smooth times ahead??!

But we LOVE the house!! Dennis says it still doesn't feel like ours, but I told him it will as soon as he has to make that first house payment!! ;)

The kids have taken over the basement already...there is a large finished section with an office built in, then about 600 or 700 sq ft of unfinished for storage.

House stuff

Well, it has been a month since i posted and I thought I'd share that we are still alive. We are in the process of buying a new house. We are hoping to close on it in a few weeks. When we get an official date and things are set, we will be posting some photos and a moving date for anyone local who feels motivated to help us move! ;) We are excited to have more space for the girls and for friends and family. Our house has been great, but we feel like we can't really have people over much because everyone is on top of each other in this space. So we are excited to have a space that's a little more open and it has a partially finished basement for the girls to stretch out and play. We are upsizing, so we'll be budgeting more and vacationing and eating out a lot LESS, but we think it will be worth it to give the girls more space in the house and provide a place for sleepovers and they can actually have their birthday parties at their OWN house! ;)

So, that has kept us quite busy and i haven't even THOUGHT of any blog topics or had time to sit down and post.

Damien came over to play with the girls in the snow...he is so lightweight he had a great time sliding all over the yard in the sled! ;)

The girls had a great time recently when we watched our friends' daughter, Nellie. She is like a living baby doll for the girls. Anna just follows her around and watches her and smiles. It is precious!!

Winter Wonderland and Fabulous 4's

Hey there everyone! Sorry we haven't posted in a while. I am hearing much interest in Mamaw taking over the blog so that it gets updated more often, but unfortunately, she won't. SO, we are going to work with her today to develop her own blog. Then maybe you'll get more photos and things. I have to really fight for computer time at my house so I am not on there much to update it!!

But, here are some new photos from Anna's birthday and from today's snow/ice storm fun! The girls went sledding for the first time. Anna took a dive and went face-first down the hill, but was not injured and overall, it was a safe adventure. Emily figured out how to get herself moving down the hill alone, so that was fun to watch. They are getting so big!!!

Anna's 4th Birthday was Monday, so we had her party on Saturday and she had a great time with her friends and Sissy. It was a bit LOUD for the grownups, but the kids had fun!!
